November 24, 2007 - Mount Trim Governor

I wasn't sure how to mount the little plastic trim governor device.  Absolutely no guidance in the instructions, of course.  So I posted the question in the Vans Air Force forums and got some good suggestions.  The one I liked the best was Ricks: glue it to a piece of aluminum and screw the aluminum to a bulkhead.  Rick even agreed to sell me a tube of the Mil-spec RTV sealant he used.  So I glued the prop governor to the aluminum strip as shown below.  This RTV adhesive looks and acts like ProSeal, only you don't have to mix it.  Good stuff.   I'm going to use it to glue the tie-wrap anchors down.

Originally I was going to put the trim governor by the pilot's stick.  But because you have to be able to get a screwdriver on it to adjust it, I ended up mounting it on the center sub-panel.  Easy to get to with the canopy open.
