March 31, 2005 - Flap Braces and Hinges |
||||||
Here I am match-drilling the bottom skins to the flap brace and hinges. After that, I deburred and dimpled the bottom skins, which are completely prepped now, ready for riveting to the wings. That won't happen until after the fuselage is done. | ||||||
The bottom skins are dimpled, but you don't want to dimple the hinges,
so what you do is countersink the flap brace. No big deal.

Per the instructions, there are two ways of handling the flap hinge
pins. I elected to remove the hinge eyelets in the middle of the
hinges. The eyelets that get removed have the green markings.
The dremel tool went through them like a hot knife through butter.
