November 15, 2013 - Wingtip Ribs

The wingtip ribs consist of two parts:  the vertical rib, and then a horizontal piece attached perpendicularly to the outside of the vertical rib.

 

Here I'm gluing reinforcement strips to the outside of the horizontal web.

The six vertical webs.  The center and lower wingtip ribs are full length.  The upper wing tip has short wing tip ribs because of the ailerons.   When I dusted off the rib jib to make these ribs, it seemed like a million years ago that I had made 50+ ribs with it.
