April 24, 2004 - Saturday Flying |
||||
A beautiful, Spring Saturday. The RV building is just going to have to wait. First stop, Massey Airfield (MD1), a nice little grass strip over on the Eastern Shore. They are having a fly-in today. As I arrived overhead in the Citabria, three RV's took off, then made a low pass over the field in formation. Sorry I missed them. Still, the fly-in had a nice turnout, 30+ airplanes and quite a variety. My yellow Citabria is just left of center. She looks good; we wouldn't have brought here to a fly-in before restoration; too embarassing!

First two-place gyro-copter I've seen. This one had a Rotax 912 engine. Usually, gyro's are very noisy, but this one was really quiet.
Cool. We should have got one of these Lotus float's for our UltraStar.
I have no idea what kind of plane this is.
On the way from Massey to the Flying Cow Airpark, I flew over Hartford County airport. There were a couple of gliders down there. Never landed at this airport which is just North of Baltimore. Have to land there one of these days.
