I painted the subpanels and ribs with Rustoleum grey on top of the Marhyde self-etching primer. It came out nice. I'm still trying to decide how to paint the panel. Maybe if the Rustoleum holds up well, I'll use it on the panel. A lighter grey than this, though. | ||||||
I had to file the airspeed hole with a needle file to get the airspeed
indicator to fit. I had no way of knowing if the Pictorial Pilot
would fit because of its adjustment knob on the lower left. I
needed to drill a hole for it. I just measured how far the knob
was on the instrument, then drilled a hole there. I marked where
the hole should go, shown below.

Then drilled the hole. I made it a little larger than the knob.
I had to needle file the hole even more than the airspeed hole to get
the Pictorial Pilot to fit.
