July 13, 2007 - Panel

Big order from Vans arrived today.  First was the gasolator, along with a quick drain and threaded plug.  This comes with the firewall forward kit but I wanted it early so I could put it on the firewall.
I had intended to mount my ELT and Strobe power supply behind the passenger seat.  But recently Vans started selling  installation brackets so I decided to take the easy route and go with the pre-made brackets.  They go along the sides, just aft of the baggage bulkhead.
Auxiliary Fuel Pump.  Again, comes with the firewall forward kit, but I wanted it early so I could mount it on the firewall, then run the fuel line to it from the fuel selector valve.
My Dynon FlightDek 180 has a Hobbs meter capability I believe, but I just wanted to have one on the panel.  Reading the instructions, I find out the switch will also "drive" a low oil pressure light.  So I got that going for me, which is nice.
I finally got around to ordering an Airspeed indicator.  I'm a miles per hour kind of guy so I have mph on the outside and knots on the inside.  Look how high the indicator goes:  200+ mph.  Yeah.
I riveted the mapbox support brackets to the right subpanel.  It was easy riveting and I enjoyed it.
Then I riveted the brackets on the center subpanel.  Now they are ready for painting.
