AirVenture 2007 - Airshow

My favorite air show routine was flown by Gary Ward in his MX-2.  That's Gary strapping on his chute just before he goes up.  The MX-2 is a relatively new design.  It's made of carbon fiber and can pull +- 10G's.  Gary really knows how to fly it.  He did something I've never seen before:  an inverted flat spin.
Matt Younkin did a nice routine in this 1928 Travel Air Mystery Ship.
Warren Pietsch did an Extra/MX-2/Pitts type routine in this 1946 Clipped-wing Taylorcraft BC-12D.
This was the third time I've seen Kent Pietsch in his 1942 Interstate Cadet in less than a year.  He's one of my favorites.  He did the engine out, glider routine and then a Flying Farmer routine with an aileron falling off the airplane.

Sean Tucker in his Oracle Challenger III.
Kyle Franklin did a nice Flying Farmer deal in a Super Cub.  He literally dragged a wing tip on the ground.  Unbelievable.

I also enjoyed John Mohr's low-level routine in a stock Stearman.

Here's a lineup of Breezys.

Mike Brown in his big F7F Tigercat during the "mini" Reno Air Race.  Mike won this race, just as he had in the Reno Gold Unlimited, in September Fury.  Tragically, the two Mustangs in the race collided on landing and one pilot was killed.
Bruce enjoying the airshow.
