December 28, 2006 - Commercial Flight over Nevada

My family celebrated Christmas out in Sacramento, California with my parents and sister's family.  Nothing much to report about flying while I was there; it was cold, overcast, windy and rainy almost the whole time.  But on the day we flew home it was nice.

I had the window seat and got a great view of Lake Tahoe as we flew past.  Back in June, I flew through that pass below in the Citabria.  What a difference another 20,000 feet makes!

To the east of Lake Tahoe is this valley with Minden Airport in the middle.
Some very pretty scenery, and I finally have a camera I can capture it with.
The Digital Rebel is working great.
The ground was covered with a light dusting of snow.

My guess is that these are some salt flats because a large area was completely featureless.

Soon after I took this shot, the skies clouded up, and then the sun went down, so no more pictures.
