Arrived at the airport around 9:30AM.  It was in the high-20s – pretty cold today.

I noticed there was a little wobble betweent the left and right elevators, even when both bolts/nuts were tight on the elevator horn.  After awhile I realized the wobble was coming from the bottom bolt/nut.  I added two more washers under the nut and that solved the problem.  No more wobble.

I decided to copy Dan Checkoway's dashboard edge solution and ordered the same edge-guard he used from McMaster Carr.  I ordered it one day on their web site and it arrived the next.  Those guys are unbelievable.  The high-tech company I work for doesn't even have on-line ordering!

It's hard to see in this picture but this edge-guard is pretty substantial.  It has an aluminum U-channel inside and a tough covering around it.  I hope I never get my head slammed into it, but it would be a lot better than the naked aluminum edge.

I just slid it on.  Quick and easy and looks good.

I installed the second T-fitting on the back of the airspeed indicator for the pitot feed.  I still need to run the pitot tubing from the wing up to here, and then over to the Dynon.

I finished trimming the canopy aft edge with the Dremel.  It sits down nicely with about a 1/16” gap along the entire edge.  I sanded the edge smooth with 60, 120, 220, 320 and 400 grit progressively.

I think it came out pretty well.

Reasonably smooth transition and small, uniform gap.

I safety-wired the four bolts holding down the forward spinner mount plate.

The glued-on NACA vents seem very secure.  I might put little 3/32 pop-rivets in those big dimples and then fill with epoxy micro.  This area gets painted black, fortunately.

I adjusted the linkage on the throttle and mixture.  I finalized all the jam nuts, and regular nuts on the throttle, mixture and prop control linkages.  All three are good to go.

Then I tightened up all the nuts and screws on the exhaust and exhaust hanging apparatus.

You can see the blue torque seal on everything.
