January 14, 2008 - Rivet Fwd Top Skin |
||||||
Lynnette and I finished riveting the
aft top skin. Thankfully, I didn't have to crawl into the
fuselage. I was able to buck the right side rivets by reaching
through the back F-709 bulkhead and from the
front.

Looking good. | ||||||
Next I hung the forward top
skin.

I figured I would do it the same as the rear skin: rivet the top rib and stringers, then rivet one side by reaching through the open other side. Finally, rivet the last side by reaching in from the front, or sitting in the baggage area. |

This is a cross-brace which runs from the F-706 bulkhead to the roll bar. It took me awhile to find the rectangular reinforcing bar as I hadn't touched it in a long time. I countersunk the top holes on it. |
