October 9, 2005 - Center Fuse

Four of the ten center fuselage ribs have to have rib-holes enlarged.  There is a starter hole to use the 1 1/2 inch drill bit on.
After the 1 1/2 inch hole is cut, you just cut on the green line with the snips.
The two inner-most ribs get a top section cut away.  I used the dremel-tool for this.
The new digital camera does great up close.

Also, I had to cut snap-bushing holes in all the ribs, plus a couple of #12 holes in the inner-most ribs for some Adel Clamps.  The plans are fairly straightforward on what you have to do to each rib.

I put in over 11 hours on the RV over this rainy weekend.  Most of it was spent prepping these 14 or so center fuselage ribs.  Edge-smoothing, seaming, fluting.  Fortunately, there is a couch and a TV in the basement.  Watching the history channel and football helps get through the drudgery.
Here's a close-up of the cut-out required in the two inner-most ribs.
