April 4, 2006 - Rudder Cables |
||||||
Thanks to Dan Checkoway's web site, I knew I had to run the rudder cables prior to riveting the baggage area side panels. The only tricky thing about the rudder cables was remembering to put the snap bushings on the rudder cable after feeding it through a bulkhead. At first it was hard to get the snap bushing over the end of the rudder cable but I soon got the hang of it and after that it was easy. | ||||||
The drawings didn't show a 5/8" snap bushing hole in the middle baggage
area side bulkhead so I didn't drill one. But there was a
pre-drilled starter hole in the side bulkhead. And it was pretty
obvious that the rudder cable needed to run through the side bulkhead
and not around the inside. So I drilled a 5/8" hole with the
unibit and installed a snap bushing. Hope I did the right thing...
