February 1, 2006 - Misc Prep Work

While I wait for my riveting buddy to return from skiing, I tried to get a head-start on things that happen after rolling over the 'canoe'.

I clecoed the F-721B side rails to the main longerons to make sure they still fit; thankfully they did.  Then I edge-smoothed them.

I rooted through my diminishing pile of fuselage parts and located the F-757 gussets.  I also found the F-695 gussets and marked them for drilling per the drawings.

I collected the F-636 shoulder harness anchors and F-656-L&R gusset plates  and edge-smoothed all of them.

I retrieved the F-635 Bellcrank components, fashioned the little spacer, and drilled and clecoed it all together.  I just need to prime it, then I can rivet it together.  This component was fun.  It's a serious airplane part, as it's the bellcrank for the elevator control rod.
I de-vinyled the aft top skin and F-714 aft deck, then edge-smoothed them.  With all this stuff done already, I'm hoping to make rapid progress after flipping the canoe.
