October 16, 2005 - Center Fuselage |

Here I am drilling the ribs to the F-704 bulkhead.
Once that was done, I was ready to bolt the forward and aft F-704 bulkheads together, with the plywood spacers between them. To do that, I had to flip the center fuselage assembly rightside up.
OK, the forward and aft bulkheads are temporarily bolted together.
Here's a closeup of the plywood spacer in between the bulkheads. I used 7/16" bolts from the aviation section of the local hardware store. The nuts are just hand-tightened.
With the forward and aft F-704
bulkheads together, it was time to cleco and drill the F-704 side pieces.
Except for a few things, the center fuselage assembly is ready to be taken apart and prepped for final riveting. This is starting to get fun! |
