February 12, 2006 - Aft Canopy Deck |

It snowed all night during our first significant snow of this winter. We got about 13 inches. This is a shot looking out over my backyard. I tried using my camera in it's "snow" mode and it worked great. Notice Lynette's deer in the center of the image.

Enough of viewing the winter wonderland; it's time to get back to work on the RV. First, I had to cut a square hole in the F-757 gussets.
I started by using the unibit to cut out as much as I could. Next
I used the dremel tool to remove as much material as I could.
Finally, I used the triangular file to square the corners and finish it
off.

I had drilled the aft canopy decks to the main longerons when I fashioned the main longerons. I hadn't noticed on the drawings that the aft canopy decks require a significant amount of trimming on the aft end. I realized they needed trimming when I tried to cleco both the F-757 gusset and aft canopy deck to the main longeron.
The bandsaw was awesome for trimming the aft canopy deck.
I don't know how I would have cut this long slot without the band saw.
The aft canopy deck clecoed to the main longeron.
