November 30, 2006 - Canopy Frame |

The Oregon Aero seats arrived so I just had to put them in the RV-7.
And of course I had to sit on them. I must say that on first
impression they are very comfortable. The RV-7 is going to be so
much more comfortable than the Citabria which has a fixed, upright seat.
The Citabria's seat cushions are fine but the seat itself forces the pilot
into an awkward position. The RV-7 seats, on the other hand, are
reclined. The seats themselves are adjustable and so are the rudder
pedals. The Oregon Aero cushions are not inexpensive, but I have
heard so much about them that I just had to try them. I'm going to send them out to Abbey of FlightLine for upholstering. |

Enough fantasizing about the seats, it's time to get back to work.
I clamped the right side of the canopy frame down and match-drilled the
aft channel using the side weldment as a template. I also drilled
the splice plate between the forward canopy frame and side weldment.

I removed the canopy frame, deburred everything, and clecoed it back together. | ||||||
