May 8, 2005 - Wing Tips

It's time to do the wing tips.  Right away I realized that the outboard bottom skins need to be on to do this.  I haven't riveted my bottom skins on yet so I thought the wingtips would have to wait.  But clecoing the outboard bottom skin to the wing worked fine.

I fit the wingtip to the wings while they were in the stand.  Worked fine; easy access.

The wingtip inner edge needs to be trimmed in the aileron area.  I did that and then the wingtip fit very well against the wing.  I matched drilled the tip to the wing with #40.

It's hard to see but the right wingtip is clecoed to the right wing.
I trial fit the wingtip rib in the wingtip
Then I cut the aluminum strips to the correct size.
