The weather has finally turned warm in Maryland, so it's time to make this
Kitfox Model One airworthy. I've spent a lot of time researching the Kitfox and the Rotax 582, but today is the first day I actually did something physical on the plane. I had ordered a bunch of parts from California Power Supplies (CPS), a vendor out in California that specializes in Rotax engines, and has a fantastic catalog. The catalog is practically an encyclopedia on Rotax engines. |

I hung the horizontal stab and elevator. The elevator linkage was an easy matter. Just hook the control rod to the elevator horn. |

Then I hung the rudder. The rudder linkage is going to be a challenge. The rudder cables are inside the fuselage. I'm going to have to cut holes on the side of the fuse and figure a way to get the cables through the holes. I'm thinking about having my ten year old daughter crawl into the fuselage to get to them. I'm also going to have to make a fairing for the gap beneath the horizontal stab.
I have a lot of firewall forward work to do: the cooling system, the throttle, the fuel system, etc. Here I ran a 1" radiator hose from the engine to the radiator on the bottom of the fuselage.
I attached the carburetors to the engine for the first time.
