February 2, 2008 - Control Cables/Cowl Strips

I thought I had finished with the control cables and firewall eyeballs, but then I realized I had forgotten about this little cover plate.  The cables need to go through the cover plate before they go through the firewall.  So I had to pull everything apart.  Then I realized the holes for the throttle and mixture cables were not big enough for the cables with the snap bushings install.  So I had to drill them out to 5/8".  I ran the cables through the cover, then through the firewall, then reinstalled the three eyeballs.

All done.  Again.

I cut two more 2" wide strips out of my .050 stock.  These are for the cowl support strips -- the horizontal ones that will hold the top and bottom cowl pieces together.

I had to use the old hack saw to cut the horizontal strips down to 31".
