May 31, 2009 - Cub Flight |
The goal today was to trailer our gliders in preparation for the upcoming International Vintage Sailplane Association Regatta at Elmira, New York later this month. I drove Bruce's truck to the FlyCow airpark which Bruce flew the Cub out. We spent all day disassembling gliders and loading them onto their trailers. Then I got to fly the Cub back to Essex Skypark. Here's I'm heading east skirting Frederick Airport (KFDK). |
That's highway 70 -- the interstate I
drove out on. Bruce is probably going faster in his truck than I am
in the Cub, but since I can fly as the crow fly, I'm ahead of
him.

Liberty Resevoir. | ||||||
Nice shot of the Cub's right
wheel!
It was late in the day -- about 7PM. The sun was behind me giving the Cub a nice glow.
695 - Baltimore Beltway. Looks so different from the air. I'm fairly low to stay under the BWI Class B airspace. |
Safe on deck at Essex Skypark.
Doesn't the Cub look
great?
As an added treat, I got to drive Bruce's Audi Quattro home. Sweet!
Remember the old ratty Baby Ace? Here she is now. Bruce is working on finding some hangar space so he can put the wings on. |
