May 25, 2009 - Soaring at the FlyCow Airpark

Bruce and I headed out to the FlyCow airpark for our first soaring of the year.

First we had our gliders annualled.  Then we washed six months of grit off the gliders.

Here's my K-8 looking good after a wash.

The forecast wasn't too promising so I didn't think the soaring would be too good today.  But like almost every weekend this year, the weather guessers were way off.  I was able to log a 2 hour flight.  Admittedly, I had to work for it, and never got above 3000 feet.  But still, it was nice to get a long flight in.

It isn't called the Flycow Airpark for nothing.
