September 27, 2007 - All Grass Tour
Part Two

We left Jenkins and headed for Chorman Airport.  This is the first time we've stopped here.  Admittedly, they have an asphalt runway, but they also have a very nice grass strip alongside the asphalt.

Here, Joe touches down on the grass.

Chorman is mainly a crop dusting base.  This big duster took off after we landed.

Another good airborne shot.

Next stop was Eagle Crest which is a private airport community.

Wetlands next to the Delaware Bay.

We left Eagle Crest for the Delaware Bay and headed south down the Ocean Coast.  Tim in his 170 was Trunk Monkey #2.  You can see Tom in the lower left hand corner.

Point Lewes

The lighthouse off Cape Henlopen (Lewes Point).

Ferry Boat coming back from Cape May, New Jersey.

An old WWII coastal battery.  Built to prevent bad guys from going into the Delware Bay, I suppose.

WWII observation/spotting tower on the beach.

Bethany Beach, Delaware.

Some nice ocean front houses.

Ocean City, Maryland coming up.

You can see the famous Ocean City boardwalk in this image.

Jolly Rogers waterpart, closed for the year.  I take my youngest kid here every summer.  It's a lot of fun.

The main parking lot.  I'm guessing those big tents are for "Biker Week" which was the big event in Ocean City this weekend.

A good look at Trimper's Rides, an Ocean City fixture.  Again, I take my youngest kid here every year.  It's a tradition.  Trimpers was established in 1887.

Unfortuntely, the Trimer's might be closing, because their property tax assessments have skyrocketed.  Story

Even though it was not grass, we decided to stop at Ocean City airport to fuel up.

Lined up to get gas.
