AirVenture 2017- Ultralights

I always have to check out the ultralight area at AirVenture.  It's down at the southern end but you can take a tram most of the way.  Here is the ultralight camping area.

One of the earliest models:  a Mitchell Wing.

A classic Kitfox with colorful paintjob.

A Legal Eagle XL, one of the simplest welded steel tube airplanes to build.

This is one bare-bones airplane.

Not sure what this is.

A Kolb Firestar.

A Challenger.

The Kolb Aircraft Company still has a small booth but its glory days are long gone.

Another classic:  the 1984 Quicksilver MX.

A little Hummel, aluminum like an RV.

They call it the Fun Fly Zone.  It bet it is.  I'd like to fly here someday.
