AirVenture 2017 - Miscellaneous

Some statistics from AirVenture 2017.  From my perspective, it was clear the place was running full out on all cylinders.  All the aircraft parking areas were filled,  Camp Sholler was filled, the Ford Trimotor,
helicopters and B-17 were flying overhead non-stop.  Everyone was friendly and happy and having a good time.

Looking down at Boeing Square.  Camp Scholler is packed as are all the aircraft parking areas except for some openings in homebuilt camping.

An awesome aerial shot of the "North 40" which was filled to capacity.  I've never seen so many planes on both sides.
When Bruce and I flew in on Monday morning, the first official day of AirVenture, the General Aviation parking and
camping areas were already full and closed.

Looking north with homebuilt caming to the left, general aviation parking/camping to the north, and forum buildings to the right.

A skywriter was doing his things in the skies over AirVenture all week long.  Here is a neat picture looking down at the skywriter's smiley face from above!  Again, you can see just how packed eveyrthing is:
Camp Scholler, all the aircraft camping and parking areas.

Of course EAA, and probably all general aviation pilots, are against the recent efforts by the politicans to turn over the aviation system in the U.S. to a single private company directed by a board dominated by the airlines.  .

Don't let it happen!  It would mean the end of general aviation in this country.

A Spirit of St. Louis replica.  I heard it was going to fly but I never saw it.  One of these days I'll see one fly.

And there he is!  Charles Lindbergh himself!

What the heck!  One of the famous Oshkosh traditions.  Good to see it still going.

My cousin just started flying for FedEx.  She flies the big stuff though:  757.
