I took the fuel tank off the wing. Because the tanks were pre-built,
the instructions really don't tell you exactly what to do. But it
was easy enough to figure out. The first thing I did was drill the skin holes (that go on the spar flange) to #19. Then I dimpled them with the 509-8 dimple die. |

Back on the wing goes the fuel tank. I screwed the tank to the
wing spar flange so that it was tight to the wing spar. Then I
match-drilled the fuel tank to the joiner plate with #19.

This blurry image is of the wing spar web bottom. I'm match-drilling the fuel tank Z-brackets but drilling up through the spar web. I used a #12 bit, since AN-3 bolts go through these holes. | ||||||
Then, off comes the fuel tank again. You can see the holes in the Z-brackets. | ||||||
