The lead rectangular counterweight (above) sits in the counterbalance rib (below) and is attached to the spar at the forward top part of the rudder. The plans say this weight counteracts the weight of the structure behind it, improves the control feel and helps prevent flutter. I deburred the rib, countersunk the weight and dimpled the rib. |
