July 12, 2004 - Wing Rear Spar

These four reinforcer plates had to be trimmed and their edges deburred. Can you say "time-consuming"?

Now I cleco on four thinner reinforcer plates (outboard edge and center) to matchdrill them using the spar as a template.
Match drilling the center reinforcer plate. The center plate also has an oval hole for the aileron pushrod that has to be drilled out on the reinforcer plate.
I get to use my Unidrill bit for the first time! It worked great.
But I still have to use the dremel tool to finish the oval hole.
Now it's time to cleco the thick reinforcer plates to the spar and match drill all the holes. And of course, each hole has to be deburred. Lots of holes on the V-shaped reinforcer plate.
