July 22, 2007 - Panel riveting/Mapbox

I had forgotten about this bracket that gets riveted to the center subpanel.  I had drilled the bracket to the subpanel so long ago, I honestly can't remember doing it.  Adel clamps get screwed to the bracket bottom and hold the throttle, prop and mixture control cables.  I'll hold off on that until I'm sure how the panel bracket is going to get drilled.
A second bracket gets screwed to the panel bottom.  I backdrilled the two holes.  I'm going with the stock configuration for the throttle, prop and mixture.  But I need to do a little to see if I'll need a fourth hole.  For the cabin heat control perhaps?
I riveted the stack bracket angles to the panel.  This was an obvious candidate for back-riveting.  I can't remember the last time I back-riveted -- it's been years.  It was easy and fun and came out great.  The shop heads are nice and flush on the panel front.
Then I back-riveted the angle strip that runs along the top of the panel.
I want to finish the last four switch holes before I rivet on the Dynon mounting bracket.  Then it's paint the panel time.  Once that's done, I can really go to town with the wiring.
The mapbox is still not done!  I drilled the 1/8" holes in the door according to the drawings, then match-drilled the hinge.
I match-drilled the other hinge half using the mapbox itself as a template.  The door fit pretty well, except that it doesn't open all the way.  I just need to file the door bottom a little and it will be jake.
