October 28, 2008 - Spinner Filler covers |
||||||
I wanted to make sure the prop cutouts in the spinner were sufficiently big for the prop's entire range of movement. I secured some two by fours to the prop as shown, and then Lynnette and I twisted the prop. Clearance was fine. |

Next item on the agenda was to make the spinner covers that close the gap aft of the prop blade. |
||||||
First I made paper templates. I used them to cut out the real thing from aluminum sheet.
After a lot of trimming, drilling and bending, I had fashioned the covers as shown. I also fashioned the little butt plates that help secure the forward part of the cover to the spinner itself.
