October 13, 2008 - Oil Breather Tube

It took quite a bit of contemplation before I figured out how how to run my oil breather tube.  The way the drawings had it was obviously not going to work for my firewall forward setup.  The firewall forward kit provided a right angle rubber hose which I was able to use after I cut off the right angle bend.  The drawings call for clamping the aluminum tube to the firewall.  I couldn't do that but I was able to secure the tube to the engine mount in two places.

Here's a shot of the rubber hose attaching to the engine oil breather fitting which came with the engine.

I used silicon tape and tie wraps to secure the oil breather aluminum tube to the engine mount.  The tape protects the engine mount from getting chaffed by the tie wraps.  The tube is very secure.  It isnt going anywhere.

And the bottom part of the tube.  I cut a few inches of the end off so the tube would end directly over the left exhaust pipe.
