October 14, 2008 - EAA Chapter Picnic

This Saturday my local EAA Chapter had a picnic at a private airstrip over on the Eastern Shore.  It was a beautiful fall day.  Here a bunch of EAAers doing what we do best -- talking airplanes.

Looking down the strip to the east.

And to the west.  I'm sorry to have to say I drove to the picnic.  I've never landed here either.  Apparently the runway has a little dogleg to it.

Most of the Chapter members flew in.

After building for seven years, George flew his RV-8 for the first time in July.  He's still flying off his hours;  yes, this airstrip is within his area.

Bruce's RV-8 has been flying for 3 or 4 years now.

Enjoying lunch by the main house.

Karl, from nearby Kentmorr, flew over to visit in his really nice Cub.

Always kind of funny to see someone flying the plane from the back seat.

That's Dan's Challenger which he keeps here.

Another Chapter member's Taylorcraft.

Departing.

Not a Chapter member, but another RV-8 driver hailing from nearby Easton.

Bruce gave us the RV grin.
