May 26, 2008 - Air Ducts, Air Seals, Oil Filler Door |
||||||
The reason the top cowl didn't fit -- well, one of the reasons -- was that the outboard edge of the air ducts was running into the baffles. I marked as best I could where the air duct needed trimming.
The left air duct after
trimming.
|
||||||
Then the top cowl fit nicely.
Peering inside the cowl through the
nostrils, I could see where the air seals needed adjustments. I
found I had to cut the air seals where the baffle bends
were.
|
||||||
One the front center baffles, the air seals needed a cut down the middle.
And the right side. | ||||||
for something different, I did some
work on the oil filler door. I trial-fit the hinge and door.
Both need trimming. You can see through the door where it needs to
be
trimmed.
|
||||||
OK, I trimmed the hinge and
door. Although the door needs juuuusssst a little bit more. I
also drilled the rivet holes in the hinge.
