January 22, 2008 - Start Empennage Fairing |
||||||
I finished scalloping the top center cowl supprt. I was on hold for a couple days getting a new band saw blade. I ordered a new one from McMaster-Carr and literally two day later it showed up. Those guys are lightening fast!
It's time to address the empennage
fairing. First I had to attach the horizontal and vertical stabs --
for about the millionth time. The fairing fit pretty well.
There's still a lot of work to be done, of
course.

I taped the fairing down as tight as I
could with duct
tape.

Then I marked where it needed trimming, based on the drawings. I also marked where the screw holes would go. That was easy to do, because the fairing is sort of transparent, and you can see the open holes underneath.
The right side trim markings. |
