November 26, 2005 - Center Fuselage Riveting |
||||||
The next step was to rivet the F-705 bulkhead and baggage ribs to the seat
ribs.
This was a lot more challenging than the seat ribs-F-704 riveting was. I couldn't flex the ribs to the side this time, so I had to use the double-offset set in the rivet gun. It was tight getting the gun between the ribs. I had to shoot left-handed half the time. The rivets came out OK though. |

A close-up of a seat rib attached to the F-705 bulkhead. There is
a baggage rib on the other side, although it's hard to see because the
alcad-coating is so reflective.
|
||||||
About halfway through. The baggage ribs are alcad-coated so I
didn't prime them.

A good look at one of the little rectangular spacers underneath the lower seat rib flange. Notice that the upper seat rib flange is trimmed to make room for the snap-bushing that goes into the 5/8" hole in the bulkhead.
Done! The center fuselage skeleton is riveted and complete. Bring on the center fuselage bottom skin.
