November 19, 2005 - Center Fuselage

I took all the vinyl off the inside of the center fuselage bottom skin.  I considered doing the same to the outside because the rows and columns of the holes are pretty close together.  But in the end I decided to bite the bullet and de-vinyl it.  It adds an extra hour to the project but will help keep the alcad-covered skin from getting scratched.  I use a soldering iron and a wooden dowel to keep the lines straight.
After devinyling comes deburring.
I smoothed the edges with the scrapper and emery cloth, then I dimpled the edge holes with the hand-squeezer.  Finally Lynnette and I dimpled the inner holes with the C-frame.  Neither of us wanted to do it, but we hunkered down and got it done in less than an hour.  This skin is ready for riveting.
