April 13, 2006 - Baggage Bulkheads |

I installed four nutplates on the lower baggage bulkhead, where the notches are. I'm going to prime the front of the baggage bulkheads, so I scuffed them up with scotchbrite.
Another view of the baggage bulkheads, screwed together.

Nylon "wear blocks", for the shoulder harness anchor cables, get pop-riveted in the notch area. First I drilled holes in the wear blocks according to the drawings. Each pop-rivet gets an aluminum backing square. You fashion them out of a strip of aluminum that is provided. I drilled all the holes before cutting.
I had screwed the lower and upper baggage bulkheads together so I could
match-drill them using the wear blocks as a template. It worked
out pretty well. After that, it was a simple matter to pop-rivet
the wear blocks to the bulkheads and that was that. Baggage
bulkheads complete!

Since my nutplate installation "proficiency" is high, I went ahead and installed nutplates on the bottom of the forward baggage area side panels. The baggage area floor screws into these nutplates.
