January 9, 2007 - Vertical Stab/Rudder

Concerning the three AN-4 bolt holes on the VS lower rear spar, I wanted to try using a 1/4" reamer instead of just a 1/4" bit.  So I ordered one from Cleaveland Tools along with a "D" bit, a size just below 1/4".
The reamer worked fine and then I bolted the VS lower rear spar to the fuse.
History in the making!  The the first time ever, the rudder is swinging on the vertical stab.

Prior to hanging the rudder, I had to adjust the three bearing rods to the dimensions shown on the drawings.
Lynnette admiring the rudder.  We need a caption contest for this picture.

Would you believe:  "Great job, Bill.  Now get it done so we can go flying!

How about: "It's OK, I guess."

"When do I get my basement back?"
