February 7, 2008 - Oil Cooler Hole

 Back to the #4 baffle.  I had to cut a rectangular hole in the aft baffle.  The oil cooler is essentially a radiator for the oil.  The cooling air needs a way to get to it.  With the Unibit, I drilled a 3/4" hole in each corner.  Like I did with the Panel, I used a jigsaw to cut out the center.  I finished it off with the file.
 
I clecoed the oil cooler bracket and oil cooler to the aft baffle. 
 
You can see that without the rectangular hole, the oil cooler wouldn't be too effective.
