February 26, 2008 - L. Wing Inboard
I still had ten wing fairing nutplates on the fuel tank inboard flange to install. There wasn't much real estate on the lower flange. I grinded off some of the nutplate side with the scotch-brite wheel which worked pretty well. I didn't have to do that on the upper flange.
I installed the three AN-3 bolts fastening the inboard fuel tank Z-bracket to the main spar. There are nutplates on the other side. I hadn't done this previously because they are on the underside of the spar and I simply didn't notice them with the wings upside down in the wingstand. I'm certainly glad I did notice them missing!
