August 24, 2007 - Firewall Forward hoses

I spent time studying the firewall forward drawings and identifying hoses.  Here, I gathered the components of the fuel system:  gasolator, hoses going to the primary fuel pump (on the engine), fuel pressure hose going to the transducer manifold.  I also made sure I had the required AN fittings.  All new to me.

While I was on the fuel system, I pulled the Floscan fuel-flow sensor out of my Dynon box of stuff.  Where does it go?

I later spent an hour searching through the forums trying to answer that question.  Usually you can determine what the best course of action is but not this time.  People mounted this sensor all over the place.  Between the fuel selector valve and aux fuel pump.  Between the gasolator and primary fuel pump.  Between the primary fuel pump and carburator.  We'll have to wait and see on this one.

These metal-braid hoses go between the oil cooler and engine.  I might be missing a fitting.  But then again, I think you're supposed to use steel fittings to the oil cooler so I'll have to order those anyways.

I put the rudder pedals mechanism back in and trial-fitted the black brake fluid hoses.  They seem a little longer than need be, but I can live with it.

I primed a bunch of parts:  the gasolator reinforcing plate, control cable brackets, mapbox door, switch backing strips and aileron bootie mounting strips.

And I also primed the panel.
