May 1, 2004 - Right Elevator |

It's time to back-rivet the stiffeners to the right elevator skin. Here you cay seen the skin resting on the polished steel plate. I have carpet remnants on each side of the plate to avoid scratching the skin. The rivet gun has the special back-rivet driver, I have my bag of 3.5 flush rivets and I'm ready to go. |
||||
The tape keeps the rivets in the holes when I lay the
skin down.

This is the elevator spar with the top ribs clecoed on. You can also see the clecos holding the spar reinforcing plates on to the spar.
A closer look at the elevator top ribs with the lead counterbalance weight in place. The counterbalance skin is clecoed to the ribs.
