November 3, 2008 - Firewall Insulation |
||||||
The instructions for the firewall insulation calls for glueing aluminum foil to the aft side. The guy I bought my hangar from had left a big roll of industrial strength Alumiseal. I figured it is probably better than aluminum foil so I used it for my firewall insulation. | ||||||
I cut a piece of alumiseal to match
the
foam.

Then I glued it on using 3M Super 77
per the GBI directions. Making the firewall shielding is going to be
time-consuming, because there are so many things going through the
firewall. I'll have to cut corresponding holes in the insulation for
them.
