December 22, 2007 - Com Antenna Cable, Brake lines |
||||||
I worked some more on the wire & cable runs -- sorry for the blurry picture. Those two wire/cable bundles may not look like much but they represent a lot of effort and time! The right bundle now includes the Com antenna cable.
Here's the antenna end of the Com
antenna cable. I wanted to be able to get to it in flight -- the
idea being that I could hook up a hand-held radio to the antenna if
desired.
|
||||||
The antenna cable, and its terminal, has to be able to go through the panel, so I drilled a 3/4" hole and put a snap-bushing in it.
I turned my attention to finishing up
the brake lines in the forward cabin area. I secured all lines to
the brake pedal
units.
|
||||||
Then I ran the nylon tubing to the brake resevoir -- not seen, it's on the other side of the firewall -- using the Nylo-Seal connectors supplied with the kit. I like the Nylo-Seals. Quick and easy to hook up.
I drilled some holes to run the nylon tubes through for support. Per the drawings. That pretty much takes care of the brake system aft of the firewall. I still have to run aluminum tubing from the firewall, down the gear legs, to the brakes themselves. Yeah, really looking forward to bending more aluminum tubing. Not! |
