Dayton, 2007 - Huffman Prairie Flying Field |
||||||
Near the Air Force Museum is Huffman Prairie Flying Field where for two years the Wright Brothers perfected their flying machine after the famous four flights at Kitty Hawk.
Amazingly, the site is pretty much as
it was 100 years ago. The area where the Wrights
flew is marked by white
flags.

A replica of the catapult the Wright used to get their Flyer airborne despite light winds and high temperatures. |

It's worth spending an hour visiting Huffman Prairie Flying Field.
