I spent the entire day working on the RV. Continuing with the landing gear, wheels and brakes, I opened up the two holes on the Brake Mounting Flange to 5/16", using my reamer.
Then I fashioned six spacers, using the band saw. I made the
spacers slightly longer than called for in the drawings:

I had no trouble sliding the mounting flange over the axle. But I did have to scrap off a little of the epoxy coating where it met the axle, so that I could get the Allen head screw through the mounting flange and axle. Those two Allen head screws were unusual; I had long wondered what they would be used for. Before bolting the mounting flange to the axle, I "flattened" the side on four 516 washers per the drawings.
This was so the washers wouldn't interfere with the brake mounting
plate, shown below. The brake mounting plate gets bolted to the
mounting flange.

I put everything together: the brake mounting plate, the spacers, and the Wheel fairing mount. Then I slid the wheel on.
I even put the brake show and caliper on.
I screwed the wheel nut on and right away realized something was wrong. The Wheel wobbled badly, even with the wheel nut as tight as I could get it. I had worked all day and was tired of working on the plane so I decided to call it a day. I'll do some research and think about what to do with the wheel..
