AirVenture 2022 - RVs (hundreds of 'em)

The following are pictures of RVs that I liked or found interesting.  There were many RVs in homebuilt camping that I did not see.  There were hundreds and hundreds of RVs at the show so if I missed yours, sorry.

This one gets my "Best tail art of the show" award!

U.S.A.!  U.S.A.!

Interesting.  But it works.

An RV painted after Col. John Landers' P-51 "Beautiful Doll".  Landers scored 6 victories in the Pacific Theater while flying P-40s with the 49th Fighter Group. Col. Landers then flew with several 8th Air Force units in the European Theater flying P-38s and P-51s, all of which were named Big Beautiful Doll. Col. Landers scored 4 victories while flying with the 38th FS, 55th FG and was promoted to command the 357th FG between 10 Oct – 2 Dec 1944. He was then transferred to Duxford, where he commanded the 78th FG. Col. Landers scored 8.5 victories in the 8th AF for a total of 14.5 victories. (4.5 victories were in the P-51)

It's too bad most of the RVs have their canopy covers on.  But who can blame their owners.  You don't want the sun beating down on your cockpit all day.  I'm not different; I keep my canopy covered too.

Nice check pattern.

A couple of nice RVs in homebuilt parking.  The Orange and Gray one must be owned by an American Airlines pilot.

Lots of color on this big RV-14A.

A P-51 Mustang "Old Crow" taxiis by two rows of RVs in homebuilt parking.

I recognize these two RV-8s.  Brian and Mark flew them in from Essex Skypark.

Seven must be this owner's lucky number.

A 3,000 + hour bird, owned by "Joker" who I have flown formation with a few times over the years including the 2013 49-ship Kansas City Chiefs flyover.

I remember talking with the owner of "Twitterpated!" at a formation clinic at Millville, NJ during my build.

Gotta love those polished RVs!

And, those painted in U.S. Navy World War II livery.

I've seen RV's painted in U.S. markings, German Luftwaffe markings, and even Soviet markings.  But this is the first RV in British markings I've seen.  Splendid!

Nice World War II Army Air Corps paintscheme.

Like the patriotic spirit!

Blue Angels paint scheme.  Needs a little more yellow, I think.

An RV-10 taxiis in on Mustang Avenue.

And another RV-10 "Bad Wolf" taxiis out on Mustang Avenue.

An interesting paint job on a Synergy builder-assist RV.

J.J.'s Redline Two sits in the aerobatic area.

Interesting shark-mouth design on this RV-8.

RV's were in many vendor booths.
