January 27, 2019 - Formation Flying w/Zack |
||||||
Another good day of flying on this surprisingly good flying weather for a January weekend. I took off from Essex and joined up with Zack and Alan in their RV-8's just east of Rock Hall on the Eastern Shore. We then proceeded to do an overhead break at Easton Airport and land. We met Mugsy and Mozam at Easton, briefed, then taxiied out for takeoff. Zack had the lead, Alan #2, Mugsy #3, I was #4 and Mozam was #5. Here we are running up our engines on the taxiway. |

Mozam is flying his newly acquired Epislon, a French military trainer. They were retired by the L'Armee De L'Air and a bunch of guys in the Mid-Atlantic area bought them and had shipped over to the U.S.

We practiced formation maneuvers and are now headed in route formation over to Cambridge for lunch.
Parked at Cambridge Airport. There was a pretty good crosswind here when we landed. Good practice.

Nice looking plane.

We debriefed over a delicious lunch at Kay's restaurant, then everyone went their separate ways. Except for Mugsy and I. We did some more formation practice, and some follow the leader fun fly before splitting up and heading home. Here I'm crossing the Bay. The Bay Bridge is visible in the distance.
