AirVenture 2017 - Homebuilt Aircraft |
This Pietenpol would be a fun little plane to bop around in. The original Ford A engine is neat but I don't know about that radiator location! Right in the pilot's line of sight. |
A Durand Mark V. Sort of a homebuilt Staggerwing. This plane has been flying over 30 years!
Not sure what this is but it is unusual.
Van's RV-10 demonstration ride plane taxiis out while three Aeroshell T-6s do a formation takeoff. Always something going on at AirVenture.
Taxiing planes waiting on the Navy's P-8 Poseidon to be pushed back into Boeing Square.
Paul C. from Essex Skypark and a fellow EAA Chapter member scored a primo parking spot for his Super Cub.
This is the planes first AirVenture and is deserving of a second shot.
I liked the paintjob on this One Design homebuilt that is aerobatic.
A SubSonex looking good in the Homebuilder Building.
Another homebuilder building had people actually building a Zenith CH-750.
In another section of the building, a guy was doing some gas welding on a steel-tube airframe.
Aeromarine Skyote | ||||||
This is homebuilt camping!
Yeah, like those tundra tires!
You don't see too many of the Burt Rutan design composites anymore but there are still a few.
Rans S-10 Sakota. Designed for aerobatics!
This Dyke Delta is an AirVenture regular.
Hatz CB-1 Biplane. | ||||||
Nice looking Air Cam on floats. Man, you could have some fun with this plane!
The single-seat Panther is looking good.
Another SubSonex.
Mitchell Lock's RV-14 getting a lot of attention.
Classy paintjob on this RV-12.
Fancy panel as well. | ||||||
Kitfox with 180 horsepower engine, wow!
