Day 8 - Back to Zion NP |
Another early start; taking off at St. George Airport just after daybreak.
The early morning sun makes everything look pink.
I headed northwest to Zion NP. It looked completely different in the early morning sun.
My friends, this is why I fly.

My last shot of Zion. I thought Zion was awesome from the aerial point of view. I hadn't read or heard anything about it and wasn't prepared for how good it was. It is definately on my short list of great places to fly over. Someday I will have to see it from the ground too.
I headed southwest towards the Kanab Creek Wilderness Area, just north of the Grand Canyon. Actually, it is really part of the Grand Canyon, just outside their special airspace rules.
The scenary was spectacular even during the transit.
I was looking for the Pink Sand Dunes Stake Park west of Kanab but couldn't find it. That is Kanab and Kanab Airport in the center of the picture. I would land here later on in the day.

Looking back west.
