I flew above a broken layer for while before it burned off. A little hazy, the winds were light, even up high, so I was making 190-200 mph over the ground.

This big windmill farm was somewhere in Illinois, I think,
This windmill is under conxtructions. The big blades are lying on the ground.
After flying for a couple of hours -- I was making 200 mph at 7,500 feet -- I stopped at Kirkland Airport to get gas and something to eat. Once again, the GPS496 AOPA directory was useful. It said there was a restaurant within walking distance, and sure enough, there was a small restaurant anmed "Joe's Filling Station - for hungary people" close by where I had breakfast. The FBO building had a computer so I could check weather, and the AvGas price was on the low end of the spectrum. The yellow arrow points to the runway, and the blue arrow points to the restaurant.
On the ground at Kirkland, a nice little

For once the weather around Baltimore was decent -- no thunderstorms -- and I scooted home. Once I get over Martinsburg, the plane knows its own way home. Mark on top Frederick which ensures I stay out of P-40, SFRA and Class B airspace, then to Clearview which keeps me north of the SFRA, north of the big twin towers on the west side of Baltimore, and then direct to Essex Skypark.
